All very true. She was a political appointment. The education select committee said she didn't have the knowledge, experience or qualifications to do the job. They were right. She was a disaster.

Sadly not new: Farage has long been complaining that "overdiagnosis" is bankrupting the country. That's Doctor Farage of course... Oh no, wait. I don't think either he or Tice has yet had any medical qualifications confirmed.

"We've had enough of experts," Mr Gove famously stated during the Brexit campaign when he was informed that all the experts said it would be a disaster. I am sure Mr Tice agrees (with Gove, that is).

Totally different context but after moving to a different town in the 90s, teenage daughter showed her sensitive nature by commenting to me: "I think Mum is missing Cornwall. It's not the same for you because you never had any friends."

Half right. Shanker Singham is a member of the "Growth Commission" but it's not any sort of official body and it's not advising Labour.
