I loved every minute of living in Denver. I grew up here, I played in the mountains, I started my tech career here.

But on to bigger and brighter things: I’m incredibly proud of Shelby for her accomplishments. We’re headed to Yale for a few years and she’ll be doing her masters!

Ah yes, good. The totally legitimate and supreme financial store of value, “FARTCOIN”, is now on Coinbase, a very serious and solid financial institution.

They said it couldn't be done. They said I was crazy: but here it is, here we are. Agent-api with Anthropic support:

Seek, and you shall find.
Ask, and you shall receive.

A good breakthrough on agent-api to enable streaming agents (i.e., where the delta is parsed chunk by chunk): probably table stakes for most workflows, but getting there!!

4. You can prompt it to use its web search capabilities despite it not needing to.

This leads me to believe that the available tools for Grok 3 may be prompt based and not programmatic: there may be no measure in not giving the LLM access to certain tools in certain conditions.

3. With abit more fancy prompt injection techniques, it's fairly simple to get it to ignore the saftey measures it does have:

2. Exfiltrating it's system message (or at least the contents of its system message) was fairly easy:

I advise extreme caution using xAI's Grok, especially for programmatic or agentic uses - it appears they have nearly no prompt injection mitigation.

1. Very basic prompt injection attacks work, even when it attempts to use one of its tools, it still falls back to the user provided prompt:

what is an AI agent?

Spent some time this morning thinking about "agents": what are they? how do they work? are they the silver bullet for all problems in software?

I dive really deep on this one: no framework, just JSON to understand how agents work.

Pretty unreal iTerm2 vulnerability that's been live for the last few months.

Update immediately.
Clean your ssh hosts.
Contact sys admins if necessary.

If you’re wondering why Ghostty is such a big deal, it’s because terminal maintainers for years (Kitty, iTerm, Alacritty, etc) have been prescribing HOW you should use your tools: example, Kitty thinks using tmux is a bad idea and actively makes it harder to use.

Ghostty makes zero assumptions.

8k on YouTube! Thank you to EVERYONE who watched a video and subscribed: I still remember being bored during the pandemic and wanting to share my love of tech with the world. So I started a channel! It's been a fun journey, excited to invest more in it soon:
