In #StanleyParkVancouver, a zombie tree was felled on the South Creek Trail, and someone did the work to calculate its age.

1625 A.D.

We walked by this thick, branch-less trunk many times and noticed how much it was beginning to lean as of late. Now it will nurse new life for years to come.

Why yes, I’m randomly watching St. George Willawong vs Sunshine Coast of the NPL Queensland.

In fact, with 500+ viewers, I think there are more people watching on YouTube than at the match.

Trees on one end, turf that’s seen better days, no announcers, and just one camera that zooms and pans. 😍

Ready for this cold snap to be over and have the rain return, but it’s hard to not enjoy a snowy walk in #StanleyPark
Looking down Lees Trail that leads back to Rawlings Trail and towards Third Beach in Stanley Park in Vancouver, B.C. The rocky path is less snow covered than the sides that line it. Tall trees rise high into the air all around the trail. A large (most likely) Douglas Fir tree lays across a snow covered Lees Trail in Stanley Park where it has fallen very recently. A city of Vancouver barricade sits just in front of it to warn trail walkers that the trail is impassable at this point but the thickness of the tree and being snow covered make it impassable. Other tall trees surround the area. From top of the stairs at Third Beach in Stanley Park, Vancouver, B.C., a single palm tree sits in the foreground on the left with the snow covered concession patio on the right. Third Beach sits below with the waters of the Burrard Inlet, West Vancouver, and Bowen Island off in the distance.

Just sent @miss604.com out the door to cover the opening ceremonies of the #InvictusGames2025.

Which I also passed by the #Van2010 cauldron yesterday that was lit in anticipation for today. Little, exciting hints of Olympic memories all around downtown, especially team jackets!
