A few weeks ago I started looking for my grandparents and great grandparents records in the census of 1901 and 1911.
The final column of the census form probably wouldn't be accepted today!

I'm reading Manning Marable's biography of Malcolm X.
This description of his first purchase after leaving prison is fascinating.

Calling teachers in Ireland
Have any of your Ukrainian students received this letter?

I find it appalling.
Totally devoid of compassion.
The word 'regret' is used once, but in relation to pets.

A few of my students received this letter today.
They came to Ireland for shelter when Russia invaded.
They joined our schools and our communities, learned out language.
And now at the stroke of a pen they're being evicted.

The ESB crews have our power back hours ahead of schedule.
Well done to the teams, they do amazing things in the worst of conditions.

We genuinely spend less than the OECD average on education.
Below is a little chart I put into a post a few weeks ago.

Interestingly, we get more out. PISA average scores were 488, whereas in Ireland we scored 505.

Lads, #ge24 is fascinating to follow.

A colleague of mine is competing in Cork North Central, and I'm supporting Liam Quaide in Cork East.
Can only imagine the nerves with the ebb and flow of transfers

Last night I attended the Technology Industry Alliance awards in Killarney. @antonsavage.bsky.social as compere.
Great evening, and a privilege to represent my school (we were shortlisted, but didn't win).
Nice to get out!
