Or even just $5 short single player games in certain settings would be neat. Or something like Peak, where you are mapping out omen-paths through different planes for Niv-Mizzet.
If the games just pay for their development, it’s free advertising and new revenue sources.

By blinded by experience I mean it like when someone who is an expert in quantum physics has to teach a course.

People who are new to magic still don’t understand that all regular damage happens simultaneously or how first strike or filter lands work.

Aren’t we just creating needless complexity?

Wouldn’t it be better to instead make it so you can have cards with ‘Devoid’ in any deck, and then have WoTC introduce a keyword like:

Color bloom X Green/Blue; [Ability] (if X Green or X Blue mana was spent to cast this spell, it has this ability)

If hybrid means OR not AND for deck building, shouldn’t commanders with only one hybrid pip (like Omo) be mono-colored commanders. Or will hybrid mean OR for deck building except when it’s your commander?

There’s already a lot of things to learn when you start playing commander. When me and my friend tried to learn it from Gavin’s YouTube tutorials, we didn’t understand any of it.
A lot of veteran players are blinded by experience when they say the hybrid change would decrease confusion.

I think it’s important to keep in mind that EDH was also made with a specific intent in mind. It’s a format, that was made specifically to limit the available card list based on color identity, to give less powerful and obscure cards a place to be played.

This way hybrid spells could slot into any deck, and you don’t have to worry about accidentally making something broken because of flickering or reanimation spells.

If you cast a hybrid spell with a mono-color commander, should Null Elemental Blast no longer be able to counter it?
Should hybrid pips still count as devotion for each of the colors?
Is casting Beseech the Queen in a colorless eldrazi deck for 3 mana with treasures/exotic orchard/etc the goal?

But why is phyrexian mana different? It’s literally just hybrid mana where one of the options is life instead of mana.
