Today in life under competitive authoritarianism

It doesn’t get anymore textbook than this:

Combine that with the virtual impossibility of overcoming your Dunning-Kruger, it is basically time for me to move on.

You can lead a clown to facts and knowledge, but you can't make them think.
November 30, 2025 at 12:15 AM
There's also the problem of trying to track humans throughout their lives so that the effects of Al can be accurately observed.

But this is where Brandolini's bullshit asymmetry principle comes into play - that the level of effort to disprove BS is exponentially larger than it is to sling it.
November 30, 2025 at 12:13 AM
And you'd also know the reasons why it's so difficult to establish an irrefutable link between Al and various serious neurological disorders.

The primary reason is the ethical problem of running RCT trials on humans because it's settled science that aluminum is a neurotoxin.
November 30, 2025 at 12:10 AM
Bless your heart and confirmation bias. If you were educated on any of this, you'd know that the NLM has plenty of conflicting papers on many subjects, including this one.

You'd also know it is well established scientific fact that Al is a neurotoxic agent - and that's something nobody denies.

I bet it's EZ to be snide w/ all that Dunning-Kruger, but it was 40-50 yrs before tobacco & sugar industries got exposed.

Science says it *should* cause problems - as it did w/ the others - but, hey, you surely know better than me so feel free to cook w/ aluminum for you and your whole family!

No, I'm not a conspiracy theorist. But I have an MPH in healthcare policy, and one of the most fundamental aspects of healthcare policy is understanding and recognizing how bad actors do what they do in order to influence policy to protect their profits and mitigate their exposure.

And all this whataboutism here is extremely suspicious.

Notice the org is conducting research into other metals instead of going after the "high-quality evidence" into aluminum?

And the multiple times they say look "here" and "here" instead?

This is all Harmful Industry Capture 101.
November 29, 2025 at 7:21 PM
There are many reasons to be suspicious to say the least.

First, there are so many caveats throughout that opinion piece ans the ultimate conclusion is merely a huge caveat itself.

It also treats all types of aluminum as equivalent when we know that it's not.
November 29, 2025 at 7:21 PM
To what extent are you aware of industry capture of nonprofits? It's an old playbook we've seen run by tobacco, alcohol, sugar, pharmaceutical, fossil fuel, and other industries - and nobody was aware of that capture until typically decades later.

I'm not saying that's the case here but...
November 29, 2025 at 7:21 PM
Btw, if you do decide to eat aluminum foil because you can't accept being wrong about things you don't know anything about and it's how you choose to cope with it... just ball it up first and then the only thing you'll have to worry about is indigestion, not neurotoxins.
November 29, 2025 at 6:05 PM
I imagine it's extremely frustrating to try and win an argument that requires specific education you don't have but is required to even effectively participate.

It's why I try stay in my lane but listen to folks when I find myself in theirs.
November 29, 2025 at 5:57 PM
Yeah, so you're just an adolescent clown looking to argue and troll folks because you lead a tragic life of uselessness.
November 29, 2025 at 5:39 PM
What wild claims have I made?
November 29, 2025 at 5:32 PM
Did that not make you think maybe my knowledge of that and ability to explain it to you indicates that it's possible I know better than you considering you're just working off of research abstracts (if even that)?

Did you know any of what I just said before I said it?
November 29, 2025 at 5:30 PM
Why are you even arguing anymore? You accused me of being anti-vax and I said several times that I'm actually very much pro-vaccine. Quite literally said "vaccines are great!" I explained to you the difference between the types of aluminum that leeches into food versus that in vaccines.
November 29, 2025 at 5:30 PM
Yes, the aluminum industry has commissioned studies to protect their products much like cigarette manufacturers and the alcohol industry and every other industry that creates harmful products that harm people.

I have masters-level education and training in public health what do you have?
November 29, 2025 at 5:26 PM
I did argue with facts and science using words that you probably can't even pronounce much less know what they are. In fact, I'm the only one using facts and arguing science while you little dummies are basically repeating versions of "nuh-uh!" because you don't know what you're talking about.
November 29, 2025 at 5:23 PM
And it still doesn't answer the question why he's still lashing out like a petulant adolescent child despite knowing that I'm actually very much pro-vaccine and nothing I've said has anything to do with vaccines at all.

It's just irrational.
November 29, 2025 at 5:18 PM
But he didn't quote any study at all while I quite literally explained the science because I actually have read the studies and have the education and training to understand what they say and assess their validity.
November 29, 2025 at 5:16 PM
There are so many people all over social media who are actually fear-mongering anti-vax nonsense, so why are you wasting your time coming after me when I patiently explained to you the science and already said how great vaccines are?

Is it just an attention thing?
November 29, 2025 at 5:08 PM
Even now you want to act like you know better than I do?

The Dunning-Kruger is strong with you, child.
November 29, 2025 at 4:54 PM
So many idiots, so little time...

bsky.app/profile/joey...
Nobody's talking about vaccines, little buddy. I have a master of public health degree, so I know what I'm talking about here.

Not that you asked because you're one of those know-it-all clowns, but I'm going to educate you anyway...
November 29, 2025 at 4:52 PM
Vaccine adjuvants are insoluble particulates - aluminum oxyhydroxide or aluminum hydroxyphosphate aggregates - specifically engineered to remain insoluble.

Vaccines are great!

Cooking with aluminum? Not so much.

You're welcome.
