Good news if you don’t have a protein for Christmas dinner yet. Uber Eats will deliver a wagyu prime rib from Costco for a very reasonable price.

Seems a small price to pay to not deal with Costco’s parking lot.

Took Colonel Gustard to visit my mom this morning so she could watch him while I got my hair cut. Then he helped her make me some breakfast.

That took a lot out of him so he needed a nap before we headed home.

On vacation this week so I took Colonel Gustard to visit my mom today so we could freeload some lunch from her.

She has a little bed and toy box set up for when he comes to visit.

After a hard week of work, my assistant likes to relax on Sunday mornings by watching the Food Network with me.

Incredibly rare sighting of all four of my dogs hanging out together.

On campus today for some meetings and stopped in to check on construction of the new AAPS offices. Things are getting very close and are really looking amazing.

My assistant Gus is hard at work in our home office, reviewing a couple of small last minute tweaks to the design of the new AAPS office space.

Gus has indicated he approves.

It’s a very busy time at AAPS so I’m working on a couple of files this morning but fortunately my tireless assistant is also prepared to work weekends.

As construction on the new AAPS offices gets closer to completion, more and more decisions about finishes are required. Currently working with our Co-Artistic Directors looking at the various elements of signage that will be going into the office.

My Asssistant does not seem at all traumatized that he is getting the day off today while I go to UBC to check out how construction is going on his new office and to talk to tech folks about A/V equipment.

He is very excited to soon meet his AAPS colleagues in person, rather than just over Zoom.

The level of micromanagement I’m currently being subjected to is intolerable

My assistant Gus and I are working upstairs while the heat kicks on and warms up our basement office. Gus is very closely monitoring my work.
February 5, 2024 at 5:01 PM
Gus, my loyal assistant, is mentally preparing himself to join me for a busy day of Zoom meetings. He’s getting very excited that construction on his new office is almost complete and he will be able to come to the UBC campus to serve AAPS members.

Out playing fetch in the mud again and mom says I’m gross and have to sit outside with Dad on the (covered) back deck for a while until I dry off and aren’t disgusting.

Reminder: decimating sociology departments in particular and banning discussions of human diversity, equality, and the like is part of an authoritarian playbook implemented, over the past decade or so, in pro-authoritarian systems like Russia and Hungary.

The boss is out having a fancy dinner with one of her friends so the dogs and I split a reverse seared prime New York strip steak cooked over charcoal. I had some artichoke bread pudding with it but they only seemed interested in the steak.

New year, new addition to the household. This is Gus, an 8 yr old Yorkie that our groomer found wandering the mean streets of Panorama Ridge in Surrey. He had some pretty serious dental/immune system issues and my wife & I agreed he could stay with us while those got treated and he recovered.

Apparently I’m busting my ass at work so this deadbeat can just sit around my house lounging around in his damned shark bed.

Can the device plug people and the power bar people get together & either make the plugs smaller or the space between outlets on the power bar bigger so that I can actually use every outlet on my power bar?

It feels like fucking Tetris every time I need to plug a new device in.

The most fun for the least amount of work possible when making dinner. Frozen Trader Joe’s fried rice and frozen Trader Joe’s teriyaki chicken, cooked teppanyaki-style on my Blackstone griddle.
