I did listen to the whole episode in the end and this clip is by far the worst part. The economist is very interesting but says numbers aren't important and proceeds to use lots of numbers and figures throughout which is what makes him sound credible.

It wasn't an attack it was a basic question about his economic vision. If he's not all over the details he gives his opponents ground to attack.

That's not really a comparison but anyway I would expect a party leader seeking power to know the size of the armed forces for example.
I think saying you can debate economics without any grasp of the numbers is exactly the same as saying "we're bored of experts".

He wasn't ambushed. He's a political leader, of course people will ask about the economy especially if he's hinting at radical solutions. When he talks about just memorising the numbers as an actor I think he's not serious about the situation. I really hoped he would go away and reflect properly.

This is fucking awful. Polanski could have gone away from that experience and decided to seek out left wing economists and really bought that debate out to the public about alternatives to the current system and made a real difference. This introspective victim bollox achieves nothing.

I'm colourblind too and was always pretty good with Magic Eye pictures but here I'm just seeing fork handles.

If It doesn't also look at interference outside of the electoral cycle - donations, media/social media influence, etc. then it's a sticky plaster which is not going to tackle whole problem.
