Oh I understand that. There's a handful of TOS episodes I didn't like as a kid, as I wanted to see "ship stuff" or Klingons or something like that.

This one I hated as a kid, but as an adult I adore it.

#StarTrekMarathon Deep Space Nine Ep 175 - What We Leave Behind - 31 May 1999 4/4

idea was his. TNG had an amazing ending, I think I enjoy this just a smidge more due to the excellent way everything is wrapped up - especially the Dominion War. Still wish they'd do an HD remaster of DS9. #SiskoLives

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 175 - What We Leave Behind - 31 May 1999 3/4

Winn, Dukat, and Sisko - apparently. As far as I can tell, Sisko's end was supposed to be just a death, but Avery himself didn't want to leave the "abandon his baby" message with viewers, so the "come back"

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 175 - What We Leave Behind - 31 May 1999 2/4

see a little bit of what life on the station is like after the end of the main story. I LOVED that. It's the final ep for everyone obviously, but we meet actual ends for several characters - Damar, Weyoun,

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 175 - What We Leave Behind - 31 May 1999 1/4

We reach the end of DS9 - and Sisko. I almost don't know where to go with this. The ending is spectacular - it wraps up everything, and in my favorite part, doesn't just "end" (like Voyager does). We get to

Rarity of 13 - All 9 are Texas Rangers.

Was doing fine until Teddy Baseball killed my score. Was the OG manager of the team, gets in that way - I think he's the only person to work in that square as a Ranger?

A little late today. Rarity of 2. All 9 are Texas Rangers.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 174 - Extreme Measures - 24 May 1999 3/3

This line by Quark was a riot the first time I saw it in 99. My wife and I roared with laughter. Later found out this and the scene with Picard they're mimicking were written by the same guy. Super funny moment.

Ferengi for a final time. That ends up with Rom being the new Grand Nagus, a twist I didn't see coming first time. Bashir finally "gets" Dax, albeit Ezri & not Jadzia. Overall, an excellent setup for the finale.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 174 - Extreme Measures - 24 May 1999 1/3

The penultimate ep of DS9 is where all the war shit hits the fan. First off, we get a new Defiant ship to fight with. Kira & crew go super deep in their underground mission - great stuff. We also touch on the

This is a video of Rudy Sarzo, Alex Grossi, & Johnny Kelly of Quiet Riot doing a segment from Ozzy's Crazy Train before launching into a Grossi guitar solo (8 Nov 2025). I never did see Rudy play live for Ozzy Osbourne, so it was nice to see him slap that bass on this occasion playing Crazy Train.

I did as well, but a fair amount of my OG 80's cassettes survive to this day.

#AllMyVinyl #157 - "Metal Health" by Quiet Riot. #nowspinning #vinylcommunity #vinyl #BangYourHead

Decided to write about this album now as I'm seeing Quiet Riot live tonight. Spinning this on the turntable brings up a lot of memories (most of 'em laid out here), as I bought this brand new in 1983.

I'm watching an old 1973 TOTP vid of Slade doing "Cum on Feel the Noize". I can't help but thinking the outfit guitarist Jim Lea was wearing would fit in nicely with the outfits in Daleks' Master Plan. ;) #DoctorWho

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 173 - Extreme Measures - 17 May 1999 2/2

It just felt like another holodeck program when it wasn't. As much as I don't like Kira & Odo as a couple, they play it well. It does end with Odo being cured, something that will crop up later in the finale.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 173 - Extreme Measures - 17 May 1999 1/2

My least fav of the war arc as it spends nearly all its time on "We must save Odo" when you know he won't die. Nearly all it is spent with OBrien & Bashir chasing down a cure in a weird scenario in Sloan's mind.

Rarity of 10 - 6 of 9 are Texas Rangers

Knew immediately I wouldn't get 9, as Rangers only have had two ROY and one of em (Neftali Feliz) wouldn't fit any of the categories. The other one I used (Hargrove), so I went with Phillies for the other two ROY guys.

Obviously Ripken isn't TX either. :)

Happy 20th to Tony Martin's Scream album, originally released today (8 Nov 2005 in the US, 18 Nov in UK/Europe).

Listened to it this morning, it's been awhile. Bitter Sweet, Rising Hell with Cozy Powell, The Kids of Today, and the title track are all great songs. Lots to like here.

There was also this stare from today's episode.

Also, the Vorta in this was Armin Shimerman's real life wife.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 172 - Tacking Into the Wind - 10 May 1999 2/2

one. Gowron keeps acting irrational, & after much debate, he's eventually challenged by Worf who kills him. Worf declines becoming Chancellor, passing to Martok. Another awesome ep! ❤️ Damar. #RIPCrazyEyes

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 172 - Tacking Into the Wind - 10 May 1999 1/2

Several ongoing plots - Kira & Odo and the Cardassian rebels (now w/Odo sick), Bashir/OBrien try to work around Starfleet & Section 31 to find a cure for Odo. The best one is the "Klingon shit hits the fan"
