I'm afraid it's started in Wales and Scotland as well as England.

I'm afraid not.

Buzzing to get the chance to write this article for Songlines Magazine about some of my favourite records I wrote about in my book Rebel Sounds: Music as Resistance.

I’ve been monitoring protests outside asylum seeker accommodation all weekend. Of the 11 announced protests only Epping, Norwich, Leeds and Canary Wharf got more than a handful of people and all combined was probably little over 1000 ppl. Still worrying but important not to frame as a mass uprising!

Don't forget to book your bus from Hull to the Tommy Robinson demonstration in London for the bargain price of just £60. Thats a mere £45 more expensive than National Express or Megabus. 😂

Fascinating visit to the Resistance and Deportation History Centre in Lyon to learn more about the resistance to and collaboration with fascism in France as well as the deportation of Jews and the later trial of Klaus Barbie, head of the Gestapo in Lyon.

Far-right activist Carl Benjamin has said: "Starmer [...] basically conceded that everything the far right has been saying about immigration is completely true. [...] Starmer has actually done something useful, and that is, to validate our side of the argument and move the dialectic in our favour."

Two years ago today I was in Ukraine for the first anniversary of the Russian invasion. I was in Kyiv researching remarkable stories of how people were resisting through music. I ended up opening my book Rebel Sounds in a bomb shelter. To see how Trump has betrayed these brave people makes me rage.

Just had a wonderful night discussing Rebel Sounds: Music as Resistance at Five Leaves Bookshop in Nottingham. In a difficult and troubling world it’s so lovely to discuss the power of music as a form of resistance!

I don't think I've ever seen a book I want to read less than this.

So much fun talking about Rebel Sounds: Music as Resistance in Dalston as part of the launch of the wonderful new edition of @indexoncensorship.org magazine.

My comments about the danger of Elon Musk made the front page of The Mirror. "Musk is an international extremist. When you allow online spaces to become this toxic, people kill people."

I wonder why Russel Brand describes Tate, someone charged with rape/human trafficking, merely as a "controversial character." Why he reduces Tate's extreme/violent misogyny to merely having "said some crazy stuff in the past." Why he says Tate "represents ideas and traits that have value" mmmmm 🤔

So Musk has now come out in defence Andrew McIntyre, bemoaning his imprisonment "for social media posts." McIntyre is an nazi who orchestrated extreme violence and rioting. One of his posts said, “I wish to let [redacted] know that I intend to brutally violate her and then bleed her to death.”

Andrew Tate has announced he intends to run to be British Prime Minister. His failure to realise that you can't actually run to be the PM suggests he might not be the political galaxy brain he claims. I look forward to the first request for donations.

This really made me laugh. After Farage and Tice spent recent days sycophantically praising Musk while weakly trying to distance themselves from his support for Tommy Robinson and his calls for the imprisonment of Starmer and Philips, Musk goes and tweets this. So embarrassing for Farage.

Remarkable that Elon Musk has now shown support for far-right extremist Tommy Robinson and called for the imprisonment of Jess Philips, a British MP. All after offering support to Farage and Reform.

This is the latest acquisition to the @hopenothate.org.uk archive. It's a British Union of Fascists marching banner from the 1930s. If any historians or anti-fascists have any more details on the item do let us know!
