It's a very good time to be part of a union. Getting a much more full-throated defense of diversity scholars like myself from them than from anywhere else. 👀

Incorporated all the feedback from four people into my already-max-length grant application and now it's wildly too long.

I’m so excited to share that I’ll be starting in Fall 2024 as an Assistant Professor of Social Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh! @pitt.bsky.social

I’ve been a long-time admirer of this department, so I couldn’t be happier to be joining it!

We found sexual minority men who concealed their sexual orientations were less likely to engage in a crucial health behavior: getting vaccinated against mpox. What explained this? Again, our best bet was all about the things we get from our relationships with others.

Day 10: Lemon-Yuzu Spread.

Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a lemon girl. So I was nervous to try this one. Bonne Maman and I have had some misadventures of late and the stakes were high here. But it didn’t disappoint. This tasted sweet and tart and was great.

Day 9: Honey.

As its name suggests, there’s nothing fancy going on here. And maybe that’s for the best, I feel like some of these jams have been trying to achieve more than they needed to. This tasted like good honey and that’s enough for me.

We’re into blue lid territory now. 🤷‍♂️

Day 8: Peach-Jasmine Flower Spread.

I’m behind on posting so I actually ate this a couple days ago, and I can’t really remember what it tasted like. I remember it being too sweet. Its otherwise lack of memorable features suggests to me that it didn’t rock my world.

Day 7: Raspberry-Dark Chocolate Spread.

I can imagine a scenario in which this is needed. As part of a desert maybe? With fruit? Or on shortbread? I dunno I’d have to think about it. It tasted like the inside of a raspberry chocolate truffle.

Day 6: Grapefruit-Dragon Fruit Spread.

This one was sweet as hell but I’ll allow it because the flavors were really nice. I’m increasingly thinking that I should google what the pink vs. red lids indicate.

Day 5: Fig-Cardamom Spread.

I couldn’t be more behind schedule. Jam info dump incoming.

Listen, I’m not a fig girlie. This one was never going to be for me. I’m deeply biased against it. It was awful.

Day 4: Cherry-Pink Peppercorn Spread.

I’m a day late, and this one’s causing a crisis. This jam made me wish I rated previous jams lower because it’s really good, but still not a 10. So please subtract 2 from the all previous scores and we’ll proceed accordingly.

Mild and tart, really yummy.

Day 3: Apricot-Banana Spread.

Tasted primarily of apricot. Delicious. Would buy this in a vat.

Day 2: Strawberry-Linden Blossom Spread.

This one basically tasted like strawberry jam but sweeter. Delicious. I paired it with some brie and had no complaints.

Day 1: White nectarine-peach-lemon verbena spread.

This one’s pretty good. The flavor is mild, tangy, and just a little bitter. I’m not angry at it, but I probably wouldn’t buy a full-size jar of it either. Pink lid is probably meant to indicate something. 🤷‍♂️

I was gifted the Bonne Maman jam advent calendar and I’m dragging you all down with me. Someone on the other site used to review theirs every year—I can’t remember who that was and I don’t know if they’re on here, but either way I’m joining the party. Stay tuned for the review of Jam #1.
