Yes. We must regard ourselves as if we personally had been slaves in Egypt:

Exodus 13:8 “And you shall tell your son on that day: ‘It is because of this that the LORD did for *me* when *I* came out of Egypt.’”

It's a whole big thing. In fact we repeat the Song of the Sea in our daily prayers.

G-d rebuked the *angels* for singing. They didn't have skin in the game.

The Jews, on the other hand, rejoiced when the Egyptians drowned and there was zero criticism of that, because the Jews had been miraculously saved from their former oppressors.

If we expand the source material to include the Tosefta and early Midrash collections then I think there might be a bunch of stuff that has never been systematically treated in this way.

Interesting term, it reminds me of SimEarth.

Also, I find it interesting that two of computing's pioneers — Turing and Ada Lovelace — designed programs that couldn't be run on any hardware developed in their lifetime.

When I saw your post I thought "Turing patterns!"

I don't have access to the paper but I see it cites him, so I feel very gratified.

I reviewed their other replies and you may be right, but they're so disjointed it breaks something in my brain.

I found this on Youtube. Brilliant! And even seasonal 🤣

I have a theory that it takes more talent to be funny than it does to be serious.

Weird the way countries that were once run by members of Masonic clubs are now run by members of golf clubs.

It's almost as if it reflects what's popular in each era.

It's kind of hilarious, honestly.
