NEW: Citizen Lab researchers mapped out the infrastructure of spyware maker Paragon Solutions, and say they were able to identify servers likely used by customers in several countries: Australia, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Israel, and Singapore.

NEW: Spyware maker Paragon Solutions sent us a statement confirming the U.S. government "and its allies" are customers.

Paragon told us customers “explicitly prohibit the illicit targeting of journalists and other civil society figures.”

Lots of questions remain.
