I went to college for film studies but ultimately left with a degree in History. I discovered early on that while theory was great and all what makes you a better storyteller is the why not the how. I feel like an understanding of history and the context around it made me a much better storyteller.

Whenever I tell people to read Gotham by Midnight all I say is "they let Ben Templesmith draw the Spectre." Works every time.

Thats how I feel about drawing. Writing is natural for me. Learning to draw is the hardest thing Ive ever done. But everytime something clicks its astounding

This has always been my big hangup with him over the years. Im glad to see he was big enough to admit he was wrong and take responsibility for his past statements. Mad respect.

Ive always been curious what the full story was but didnt feel it was tasteful (or even any of my business really) to ask about it. All I knew from numerous people was "Menton3” was to be avoided.

and Im not squeamish to gore. But there were more than a few scenes that made me react physically. Extremely fun.

Id argue most of Ostrander's work deserves that and we're only just now seeing more of it come to light.
