I'm just your typical, anti-social gamer. Pride? No where. Dignity? Long gone. Virginity? Totally justifiable to speculate on...
Lastly, we're clearly going in circles & looking at this from fundamentally different perspectives. You see a passion project with continuous, iterative delivery, while I see a project that has significantly under delivered while being over funded. We're not going to agree on this, and that's okay.

Again, the fact remains that after over a decade and massive funding, the project is still missing foundational elements necessary to leave the alpha phase, which is why many view the continued sale of expensive virtual goods as premature and potentially exploitative.

Features like FPS mechanics and exploration are great but they're part of an incomplete game that still lacks core components originally promised for a final release, such as the full single-player campaign, 'Squadron 42', and many interconnected game-play systems.

Yes, funding grew over time, but it grew by asking the community to bankroll promises that still haven’t been delivered after 13 years. That’s why people call it a scam: not because there’s no game at all, but because players are being taken advantage of to keep development going indefinitely.

Actually, I misspoke, I do care about where the money comes from, because it’s coming straight from players. Selling ships for hundreds or thousands while the game remains unfinished feels exploitative.

The fact remains: nearly $1B and 13 years later, Star Citizen is still in alpha. Other major titles with similar or smaller budgets have shipped full releases in less time. My concern isn’t how the money came in, it’s that the project keeps expanding without delivering the finished product.

Fair enough, I hear your passion for the project, and I respect that. I still think the lack of delivery is a problem, but let’s agree to disagree. I’ll leave it there. Enjoy the game, I’ll keep watching how it develops.

I respect that you and others are having fun with what’s playable, and that’s valid. Enjoyment doesn’t erase the fact that Star Citizen is still in alpha. Server meshing may be a big hurdle, but until promises are met, the concern remains: players are funding a project that’s perpetually unfinished.

Outlining goals isn’t the same as delivering them. Selling ships and promising features for over a decade without a finished product is why so many see it as exploitative.

I’m not denying the community is passionate. My concern isn’t whether you can play it, it’s that after 13 years and nearly $1B raised, the game is still in alpha. Enjoyment doesn’t erase the fact that the project hasn’t delivered on its core promises.

Couldn't agree more that we need a new actor in the role, but I don't see that happening until after Avengers Secret Wars.
