Good morning. Continuing to get to know connections here new and old.

Here's something personal I wrote in light of the times ahead.

I do not buy into the fallacy of complying and being "one of the good ones" just to get fair treatment.

I Am Not “One of the Good Ones”
This will not be a quick endorphin boost.

Today's reminder that Black history includes living achievers, not just examples from a distant past. #BlackHistoryMonth

A little reminder as we celebrate Black History Month. Don't get lost in despair. Get in good trouble. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

Georgia Fort, an independent journalist and vice president of the Minnesota NABJ chapter, was also arrested by federal agents this morning

I was sent this video of agents at her door:

No arrests of the ICE thugs who murdered Alex Pretti, Renee Good, or Keith Porter. No arrests of anyone in the Epstein Files. But they arrested Don Lemon because of his journalism.

I say again, this does not even approach a scintilla of the accountability that is required. These are PR moves.

As the regime is rumored to be making moves to "bring down the temperature," keep your outrage fresh in mind. Recognize faux peace offerings as just a way to encourage compliance. Demand accountability, especially from your Senators and Representatives.

With the rumored changes with Bovino, et al. I suspect the administration will try to act like we should stop asking questions. Nope. Keep at it!

Leavitt: This incident remains under investigation.

Abolish ICE is not enough.

Stern words for Greg Bovino or Kristi Noem is not enough.

We need prosecutions and trials.

Anything short of this position fails to address the gravity of this moment.

Late night exercise because I spent much of the day rewriting the work in progress. Getting the rust off myself is a bit harder this winter, but very necessary.

None of this had to happen.

I once naively hoped the country would arrive at a "have you no sense of decency" moment, but we seem to have crossed "the middle of Fifth Avenue" moment without batting an eye.

While I am disappointed in the tepid coverage from mainstream news media, I am not surprised. They are covering their asses before highlighting the worst from the files. Obeying in advance.

Happy Solstice. It may be the shortest day, but there's much to discover in the long winter night.

I'm not an "access journalist," never worked the DC scene, but dang it--could the journalists that frequent the White House at least try to ask harder questions? "You seem more interested in building monuments to yourself than being a steward of your office. When will your ego be satisfied?"

Reminds me of that time in Trump's first administration when they put out that big, blank book that was supposed to contain a new healthcare plan for the country. It's all just props and mirrors with them.
Rep. Walkinshaw: Republicans have had all year to address health care. And what they've done is, at the very last minute, cobbled together a plan that doesn't address the skyrocketing premiums that tens of millions of Americans will face. It's too little, too late from the Republicans.

Great. Another example of someone impersonating law enforcement for--who knows what.
NEW JERSEY — bonkers… the husband of an ICE agent uses her marked car to pretend to be Homeland Security and respond to a call HE MADE HIMSELF… with a gun and sirens and everything.
