I guess I've been to a lot of expensive cons ("academic conferences") for historians-- or, in my instance, a one-time wannabe academic attempting to "put myself out there" and "find a job."

I take that back. I've been to GenCon twice a while back -- but only as it takes place in my current home city.

I've been to a grand total of zero. I might, eventually... but WorldCon falls as the worst time of the year for a teacher -- the beginning of the school year.
