Sound makes me feel alive and confused, but ultimately good.
La Pucelle fired up Woodstock’s The Colony with blazing Balkan frenzied flamenco and good ol’ rock and roll showmanship!

Have resisted Chicago’s big for me Salt Shed but @thebeths.bsky.social AND Squirrel Flower? Color me there!

@thebeths.bsky.social pulled out all the stops and put on a great show @ The Salt Shed - my first time at the Shed and third time seeing these power pop phenoms - jump rope gazers indeed!

@maciestewart.bsky.social opened for Jeff Tweedy and put on a great set then her @finommusic.bsky.social partner @simacunningham.bsky.social joined in on the last number then reconvened for a fab cover of Mr. Sandman!

What a night! Jeff Tweedy and his merry band of minstrels shredded Shannon Hall with smiles and songs on their last stop of a long tour giving Madison a gorgeous send-off!

Remaining distinctive themselves, Chicago’s lean trio chugs and shrugs in friendly blends and savvy collaboratives applying undeniable vibes with trapeze pizzaz. Sleepy leaps around blistering riffs, “Forever,” adapts and recaps, capturing laidback passions through honest modesty and killer skill.

Bizhiki performed @ UW-Madison’s Shannon Hall In celebration of Native November. Inspiring immersive and wonderfully engaging.

@mollytuttlemusic.com filled the Stoughton Opera House with unbelievably feverish bluegrass and flashy, friendly country wonder.

Stacked in ecstatic madness dashing in lavish magnificence, the album’s evaporating arias swarm lost in tempestuous electronics, flighty twilight poltergeists baptized in stormy primordial auroras.

brazen language, “Forward,” cavorts in carousing resistance, sparse after-party marvels unveiling psychic wounds inside well-crafted baggage. Main Mynabird Laura Burhenn conjures fawning sing-along apocalypse, toxic earworms bathed in estranged mania, pithy lip-smacking catcalls and roofied truths.
November 7, 2025 at 5:19 PM
rejuvenating common humanity with lively individuality. Unique, sustainable and entirely inviting, “Running,” rejoices in Gregorian choruses, klezmer energy rising inside agrarian work-songs and rhythmic convictions ringing in passionate ballads and radical advocacy.

@carolinedavis.bsky.social and her Portals quartet ran circles around @artlitlab.bsky.social with stunning runs and smooth collusions.

The Argentinean iconoclast’s ionic iconography flows in vaporwave ebbs and sweltering pelvic sidesteps as, “DOGA,” honors and invigorates, advances and meanders, a living, breathing, animated creature staring out from industrial jungles; primal, instinctual and casually magnetic.
November 5, 2025 at 3:11 PM
A wonderful performance from Madison’s talented Ancora Quartet @artlitlab.bsky.social included a program of Haydn, Sibelius and a world premiere of Wisconsin’s Michael Bell.
November 3, 2025 at 12:54 PM
Australia’s TBLB pull heartstrings and angel wings with heavenly serenity tossed into squirming urgency. Barely contained, “Again,” remains true to time-tested methods; crafted, mastered and grafted in crash-car catharsis, bedroom reflection and high-potential momentum.
