I think the Georgia Public Service Commission election results are a very loud warning sign that this backlash is well underway

and cuts across partisan affiliations.

Oh and by the way... turns out they were right.

The grassroots organizers — working in conservative conservative VIrginia hill country — won.

The pipeline was never built.

The company behind it wound up *completely divesting from their gas business and building an offshore wind farm instead.*

beyond his relentless focus on corruption and elites having too much power etc, this also explains a lot of Bernie's broad appeal.

lots of people, including plenty of GOP-leaning rural voters here in Vermont, are charmed by his ornery, perpetually unintimidated "i'm not having this shit" affect.
