Uh, Eric Schmitt's grandmother was the daughter of an Italian immigrant who arrived in the US in 1913.

This was published in 1911.

I'm so very very tired.

And then one day you might find yourself staring at the building in Krakow where your grandmother was born on this day in 1896.

My mother's impish spirit was apparent even in high school.
Where this conventional Jewish girl from the Bronx, headed to Hunter College to become a teacher, declared that her hobby was "exploring" and that she planned to become a...taxidermist. 😜

Rest in peace, Mom.

That he doubled down, even when confronted with incontrovertible evidence -- like this document found by @alcalz.bsky.social showing his mother was not in the US for 9/11 and that both of her parents were born in Brazil, not Europe--is evidence of a true sociopath.

This is child survivor Vilunya Diskin (one of the co-authors of "Our Bodies, Ourselves,") and her granddaughter meeting the granddaughter of Anna Ikawy, the woman who hid Vilunya during the Holocaust. Until September, Vilunya had no idea who her own parents were or how she'd been rescued. 1/2

Can someone politely ask Avelo CEO Andrew Levy if he would have approved the flight to deport his own great-grandparents, who lived in Philadelphia for 25 years without ever becoming citizens? K thanks. #resistancegenealogy

Saving this because I think it might come in handy over the next couple of years.

Lutnick's immigrant grandfather arrived at Ellis Island in 1913 with $20, just for contrast.

As someone whose professional life revolves around the Holocaust, I couldn't stop thinking about this guy in Idaho, who immediately got out of his seat when asked and let the goons through.
You want to know how it happens? That's how.

Notice anything about this list of new trustees of the Kennedy Center, appointed by the President?

Names like Levine.
Lomagino.
Scavino.
Lutnick.
Blumberg.
Bondi.
Castellani.
Falconetti.
Zampolli.

I'd like to send them all a copy of the 1924 Johnson-Reed Act. I'll wait while they read it.
