Or they just had similar experiences growing up. Yoko's song "Born in a Prison" (from SOMETIME IN NEW YORK CITY) always felt like a sequel to "Working Class Hero" to me. Same themes, different approach.

Absolutely. I think that's because it's less about politics and more about am oppressive societal structure that's always there in some form. When I first heard this, way back when I was 17, it was like he was singing directly to me, talking about my life.

POB, for my money, is one of the best albums by anyone, ever. The honesty, raw emotion, stripped down music, incredible vocals. POB closed the door on the 60s and anticipated the trends of the 70s. Am absolute classic. (Not that I have strong opinions on the subject!) That said: To each his own!
