So Trump threatens Canada because they are making deals with China (as if he has veto power over what a sovereign country does). You'd think instead he'd be trying to give Canada a reason to not make a deal by offering a better deal, not "punishing" them. But he doesn't think that way.

Well, at least we can use the people and antics of this administration as examples for our children of how NOT to be a responsible adult. The "anti-example", so to speak. "Leaders" to NOT emulate, look up to.

When it was Ruby Ridge and Waco, the right wing screamed about abusive federal power and agents. Armed themselves. Protested. Now they applaud abusive federal power and agents. It's always about the context, and not necessarily just the action or the agents.

Agree or not about right or wrong or impact on the rest of the world, there was something solid about the US that Trump has knocked apart.
The amount of extortion is mind boggling and is it a pipe dream to hope justice gets served here, that those bribing and those being bribed face jail time?

Friends from Miami tell me that this is shocking some old line Cubans who have viewed themselves as better and different than other people from Central and South America. Have no experience myself, but they were given preferential treatment over others. But deportation numbers, you know?

I guess the part of the daily pledge of allegiance about "liberty and justice for all" isn't meant to be taken literally, kinda like the "all men are created equal" part of the declaration of Independence.

LE south of the border, fighting cartels, understandably use masks. Cartel retribution is vicious. Is ICE equating the Americans with drug cartels? Are we so scarey that they need masks to protect themselves from discovery and cartel style retribution? Naa, it's a power trip thing. Shock and awe.
