But since you brought it up, I researched further.
The UK Government made very specific definitions of food labelling in 1965 (pre EEC membership) - including a product labelled as a ’sausage’ must have 50% sausage meat.

Labelling non meat as bacon is an act of deception then.
Same as toad in the hole is deceptively named.

This is a non issue. The EU has a long history of upholding trades descriptions in the food industry (notably Champagne).
A decent marketing hire by the non-meat providers makes this issue redundant within a couple of weeks. The only reason to continue labelling non-meat as sausages is deception

That’s an intriguing move. She represents a very particular type of 2010s, grammar school prefect type of in-your-face-righteousness politician that’s fallen out of favour (see also: Nicola Sturgeon).

That’s probably fair - but it’s mainly because Apple software is incredibly user-friendly, and thus those tactics were never really needed, versus having to install drivers to print a letter.

I don’t have much sympathy with the government here… they won’t even contemplate using their 80+ majority to implement press reform, because Starmer and McSweeney think they can bend the papers to their will at election time, because they think nothing‘s changed in electoral politics since 1997.

Instead of expecting shareholders to divest away from the extremely finite supply of fossil fuels, the plan is to bullheadedly charge towards a Mr Burns fantasy
