And they did this despite known and consistent network dead zones? Fun!

Like around Menlo and San Antonio stations?

But I'm not sure why it matters for clipper cards? I can see it for direct credit card payment but doesn't clipper store some amount of data directly?

Wow, I’m not very far south of you and basically no wind

Nobody could figure out how to handle a newborn, which is why humans went extinct millennia ago

The best way I’ve seen to convince people to take a shingled vaccine is to let them see someone with shingles. Pretty much any level of non-life-threatening side effects including “take me to the hospital!” is worth it to avoid even a mild case

Pre-landing welcome to the area!

How long does each GPU last? I can imagine companies wanting enough backup capacity that they aren't taken offline if there's a supply crunch and existing chips wear out. Or more tariffs.

I think the most obvious difference is that the cover has one (lighter) hand holding the globe on its own while the sculpture has all the hands supporting it. This seems significant

Not so sure “that which doesn’t kill me…” actually works in practice

I’ve watched draws but one time I noticed how it splashed into the vial and that creeped me out for some reason. I could certainly get myself to watch again but haven’t felt a need to do so.

Vaccines are usually on my shoulder and I just don’t bother turning cuz there isn’t much to see

And then there was Speed

This is true of clinical trials in general. The goal is to collect all adverse event reports and analyze them. The big difference is that there's a better control in most trials (and when testing vaccines, too)

I don’t watch sports or follow results but the comments here got me to turn on several games!

This was my read, too

They also stopped doing that for ad targeting back in 2017

Yeah, I couldn't find anything authoritative saying they train a genAI system with it
November 22, 2025 at 4:53 PM
It's very far from clear that they're using email to _train_ models in the way people think of that term.

It may learn your preferences but when I looked it was not at all obvious that it's feeding data to train a genAI system

How can you enjoy moments of levity when <Bad Thing> is still happening?!?!! For shame!

My kid has been reading too much news so I've needed to give reminders of this
November 21, 2025 at 11:03 PM
That's a great insight! You're really on to something groundbreaking here.

In all seriousness, they're bad enough at even tasks where they're useful that it still confuses me that so many people run into this

Sorry, in front of the truck's camera so that the owner would see it if he ever looked
November 21, 2025 at 4:31 AM
I started seeing them appear slowly in my Bay Area city, although I think the rate has dropped quite low now. My kid reported students trying to pose in front of the school’s camera flipping one off when a parent had parked in front of the school

The episode has been out for multiple hours and you don’t have an answer yet? And here I thought the internet was supposed to be useful. Sigh
