Thanks to everyone who came out to my seniors' safety event today at Churchill Seniors to hear tips, advice and updates from Safer Roads Ottawa, OC Transpo and @julieslalonde.bsky.social. It was fun and informative!

I had a chance this afternoon to drop by Aseer Time (440 Richmond) to welcome Chadi and Omran to Westboro. They've got a mouth-watering dessert menu, this month 50% off from 11-4 Mon/Tue/Weds!

'Tis the season! C'est la saison !

On Wednesday, the budget was officially tabled at Council. I'm still working through it, but I'll be back soon with my thoughts.

Thanks to Valerie and Karen for, on behalf of Partners in Parenting, touring me around their new space at 25 Rosemount. They do incredible work supporting those with developmental and physical challenges and their caregivers (www.partnersinparenting.ca).

November 13, 2025 at 5:21 PM
Bill 60 kneecaps municipal Councils and councillors seeking to make our streets safer as we intensify, and will worsen congestion for everyone. Thanks to residents who came to City Hall this morning to protest.

The Mayor will release his draft budget today. We know there's money for Lansdowne, but how will the budget affect people who rely on more important city services?

November 11, 2025 at 8:19 PM
My thanks again to the Westboro Legion 480 for their continued dedication to remembering those who sacrificed for their country. We will remember them. Councillor Kavanagh and i had the honour of laying a wreath on behalf of the City.
November 11, 2025 at 8:19 PM
Hilson students spent time this morning to mark Remembrance Day, laying wreaths and singing songs. My thanks to Alisa Viner and her team for the warm welcome. I'll be in Westboro at the Cenotaph today at 1:30 for the Legion's parade and wreath-laying at 2.

I hope neighbours can join Elder Verna McGregor, Mayor Sutcliffe, Dave Allston and me to cut the ribbon on the new Papichì Park at the corner of Spencer and Huron on Saturday at 11. We'll have warm drinks and some short words. (Papichì is the Algonquin Inòdewiziwin word for Robin).

Today, Lansdowne 2.0 was passed with a 15 - 10 vote at Council. This is going to be an important issue in 2026, and I hope you'll stay engaged with Council in the coming months.
November 7, 2025 at 11:34 PM
November 7, 2025 at 4:00 PM
Lansdowne 2.0 is not what residents are telling us we need as a city. The cost is too much, the outcome too inadequate and uncertain, and the benefits accrue to too few. This morning's rally was energizing. We have an off-ramp; we should take it.

It was my pleasure to offer some remarks tonight at the City’s Urban Design and Heritage Awards. Congratulations to all the winners including the NCC’s Westboro Beach project!

I'd like to thank colleagues David Brown, Catherine Kitts and Riley Brockington who agreed to help community associations dry-run their zoning presentations with me in a mock committee meeting last night. It was fun!
November 6, 2025 at 5:29 PM
I enjoyed the well-attended Champlain Park AGM last night. Residents are generous even as they grapple with zoning changes, increasing congestion and the imminent transformation at Tunney's Pasture. It all made for a busy agenda!

As economic uncertainty grows we need a city government that has everyone's backs to ensure affordability for all. That's @arieltroster.com's and my commitment as we approach the 2026 budget.
November 6, 2025 at 12:27 AM
November 6, 2025 at 12:27 AM
There is a very large crowd in Barrhaven tonight to oppose the Lansdowne 2.0 proposal. Councillor Menard is explaining the strong opposition residents express in polling when the plan is explained.
