Seattle rain festival, January 1st to Dec 31st.
Seriously, Texas gets 60 inches compared to our 37 per year. Ours is just drizzle rather than dump. Gray skies are nearly 80% and when we finally see blue it's like a miracle. 😜

My husband and I cruised the amazing BC islands (from the US), so we contributed. 😉 We managed to see dozens of eagles fishing some rapids, some whales and bears.

That's for sure. Mine wakes me up with a lick on my nose and her face 1/4 inch from mine. 😍

A good book is my plan today and hunkering down for our incoming PNW storm of high winds and rain. Brings needed mountain snow though. 🙂

It's out. I got it delivered to my kindle this morning. (I know it's Amazon, but I wanted it fast before it was somehow blocked by tRump.)

It such a beautiful view this morning I had to share it. Fresh snow on Mt Rainier from Lake Tapps WA. (Literally my back yard from my window. We are getting our first mountain snow falls here in WA. We in the PNW, joke that the snow stays up in the mountains where it belongs.

We have a new baby Orca J pod here in Puget Sound. Big win!
Disclaimer...not sure this is actual pic of new baby. :-)

Anchored out at Montague Harbour, Canada watching the sunset. Can’t get much better than this.

My current view from Sullivan Bay up in the Canadian Broughton islands.

We got very lucky today up in Canadian Broughton islands. 💕

I saw this beauty along with about 60 others up in the Canadian Desolation Sound yesterday. They fish a super strong tidal churning current that literally brings dead fish up to the surface at tide changes. The fish can’t handle being brought up that fast. Like the bends. It was absolutely amazing.

Sunrise in my backyard. Mt Rainier.
I never get tired of this view and it's always changing.

I've got my signs ready. Doing it in little Auburn WA today. Picked a small one this time rather than Seattle or Olympia.

So get this, Seattle is sunny and no rain, but East Coast is getting dumped on. What's with that? It's going to ruin our reputation in Seattle. We tell people it rains all the time to keep the crowd down. 😜

Happy Wednesday from Lake Tapps WA. It's going to be an unusual warm and sunny day here in Western Washington. Have a good day everyone!

45 years ago today Mt St Helens erupted & totally changed the landscape surrounding it. I live in NW WA, but I was in NY state that day, and was very worried by the news.
Is still something I'll never forget. It continued to have small eruptions for weeks & we could see the plume from miles away.

A painting I managed to succeed at. I love Haystack and Cannon Beach.

I'm not there right now, but Mazatlan truly has the best sunsets ever. Especially if you sit at a restaurant with a cerveza or margarita and watch the sun go down into the ocean. (A friend's pic.)

New calf for JPod here in Puget Sound area. It's a big deal as they have become somewhat endangered in the Sound. I think it's the 2nd baby this season.
