I just looked this up. Chrome is blocking Medium’s friend-link tokens. The links work everywhere else. Just Chrome being Chrome.

That shouldn’t happen. Friend links open the full piece. Medium probably glitched. Try opening it in a private window or clearing the cached version.

I’m really glad to hear that. The shift from “mutation” to “variant” removes so much unnecessary stigma. It reflects what many of us already know at the lived level: difference does not mean defect.
