Died at 3-5. Lost to sperling on ub control in an awesome 3 games. Then to izzet otters getting one shot by slickshot. Played 0 cub.

2-3. Lost in 3 to the new Jeskai flash midrange deck. Pretty rough matchup for me but definitely made mistakes I shouldn’t have. Never played it yet though.

2-2. Went 2-0 against a poor airbending player. He doesn’t speak English but after game 2 he pointed at my torpor orb and said “noooooo 4 orb no.”

1-1. Got game 1 but had very awkward hands games 2 and 3 especially game 3. Opponent setup double reanimate merfolk and there was nothing I could do to stop it.

1-0 in my draft. I was concerned about my deck because it’s a different way than I’ve built elves but it’s very good. Beat the other elves player at the table. Will post the list after draft is done.

Sorry I'm kind fo stream of thoughting as I think through it more. Another reason I like the alpha strike is the mental load aspect. you are telling your opponent "I think I win this game" and that flips the script. they have a lot to think about with blocks and makes mistakes more likely.

I do agree that I don’t think there is an objectively “correct” answer and I loved this episode and want more. Making me stop and think through this will help me in my games for sure.

So my angle is kind of "what's the fastest way for me to end this game. putting them to 4 seems pretty close.

if they don't razor wings you can just let them trade then play first time to block. but they don't have lethal without yip yip or footwork. Pretty much any line requires you hope they don't have something. the line in the episode requires they don't have removal and octopus.

What exactly are the blocks? If they leave the 3/3s back are we saying healer in front of lion and mechanist in front of waterbender? I think in that case I just waterbend with itself, arena, clue and see what they do. if they razor rings it respond with origin for indestructible.

If they have octopus form you kind of just go back to another line, octopus form was going to get you no matter what. We agree probably don't have proactive removal. If it's reactive, the majority of those fold to origin. They're forced to block at least 10 damage and if they block wrong trample win

I think a little more of a dive into mainphase lost days then alpha strike could be valuable. I think possibly the biggest thing missed here is you can waterbend the clue and then also crack it. So you're attacking for 26 possibly but have the option to either origin or clue crack. cont...

Would you be open to a response discussing one of the lines you discarded? I don't want to be the angry internet man yelling at the creator, but I feel like one of the lines didn't get enough thought before getting tossed.

It’s not like it’s hard to figure out either. Person supports group saying they’ll make life better. Life still sucks. Person switches support to other group. Fault is a whole different can of worms, but the voting shifts aren’t entirely illogical.

It’s so nice seeing someone else with this position. The internet is just a massive haterade fest and I just want to enjoy my game. There are absolutely valid criticism of wizards but it’s just hate hate hate all the time.

Died to ravager affinity. Rough day, I should have gone to sleep earlier last night. Need to remember time zone differences when planning sleep because I crashed way earlier than I should have today.
