Average citizens aren't intimidated. The problem is in Congress.

Or, you set up passkeys and tell Google to not ask for a password whenever possible and it always asks for a password and 2fa instead of a passkey.

Also, device-based passkeys using physical hardware keys like Yubikeys. I like them the best, assuming they work the same on Linux as on Apple and Microsoft systems.

Advertising, radio, magazines, newspapers, books, and the biggest was word of mouth--churches, clubs, fraternal orders, even the Boy Scouts. Yes, social media is even bigger and faster, but look at all the crazy stuff spread by religions!

I simply use the phone as another unit in the Google Find Hub network. It is logged into my Google account and running on Wifi at home all the time, so if I misplaced my main phone I can locate it and possibly lock it remotely. Can even put an account recovery phone number on it.

I think these misinformed groups have always been there, with social media acting as a catalyst to further inflame and entrench their beliefs. Look at smoking, for example. The science was clear, yet millions smoked themselves to death long before YouTube.

I have a Linux desktop, a MacBook, and a Chromebook I use for different things. Linux gets the most use, but the MacBook and Chromebook are great on the road. My wife is all Apple and likes it that way. Until I retired I also used Windows a lot. Personally, I prefer Linux if I had to choose.

KDE Connect is classic Linux--once you've got it set up it does work some of the time, but requires lots of hand holding. Probably 75% of the time it starts out disconnected from my phone, which it was previously connected to. It takes some fiddling, then it works again.

I know someone who teaches and uses music a lot. She can have the same playlists on her MacBook, iPad, and iPhone, and they all pair easily with her Air Pods and various speakers, including the car stereo. In class the iPhone can cue up the next song from the program started via MacBook.

Maybe for some, but the people I know really use the integration between the devices and services. Like airdrop, Apple Music, passwords, FaceTime, etc.

The integration of the whole Apple ecosystem is very attractive to many: phone, laptop, iPad, desktop, air pods, air tags, etc.

Hard to believe that people who believe in transubstantiation believe this stuff.

BOA does have a lousy credit card platform, but as a general rule it is important (though boring) to skip auto pay on credit cards so you are forced to review the bill. I'm frequently finding wrong charges, refunds that didn't happen, or subscriptions that should be cancelled.

Of course I think the argument you really shouldn't be murdering people is even stronger.

Cinnamon via Linux Mint. Just works. Don't have to hunt for stuff.

Social media is hard. We weren't built for this. Can't see the natural clues and can't feel the vibes like in person.

Not sure why I see things differently, but In Burlington, VT, the Trader Joes is a great small supermarket with just about everything we would need for ordinary groceries, plus lots of unusual stuff at really great prices. We helped someone shop there for dinner and I couldn't believe the low bill.
