I usually don't use the phrases "warming into" and "20s" in the same sentence but here we are...Syracuse's temperatures are warming into 20s early next week. Monday will mark the first day in the 20s in 10 days, the second longest stretch in Syracuse history.

Most of Central New York is spared lake effect snow tonight, but watch out north of Syracuse. The band of snow is near Watertown now. After 7 pm it is moving south setting up over Central Oswego County with locally a foot or more of snow by morning.

Lake effect on the move south tonight. During the evening it is dropping south from Watertown into Southern Oswego County. It sets up near Route49/Route 31 and close to the City of Syracuse overnight thru AM commute. 1-4" in Syracuse but 4-8" possible in N. suburbs

Coldest morning in Syracuse in almost 3 years with a low today of -9F. However, not a record. That still is -14F set in 1907. We haven't broken a record low in more than 5 years (Specifically 1952 days and counting). Check out some of the other lows from last night.

Although Winter Storm Warnings go into effect for parts of CNY just after midnight Saturday, snow waits to overspread the region after sunrise Sunday. From 8 am Sunday until Noon Monday a widespread 12-18" from Nor'easter. Would be SYR's 4th storm of 12"+ this winter.

Lake effect tonight impacting areas that were hard hit with lake snow earlier in the week. 6-12" new snow focused on the Tug Hill. Another 4-8" there tomorrow then we await the Nor'easter for Sunday into Monday.
