It would not be a bad idea for him to get his stick up at the hitter’s teeth level a few times. I remember my first junior game I got hit hard a few times then my coach told me to do that. Yes, I got a penalty but coach gave me props when I came back to the bench and that stopped happening.

Canadian here, used to go to the States a lot (7 family trips to Florida, 5 golf trips to SC/NC, kids 3 school trips to NYC, my most recent was Pearl Jam at Fenway…)

Another thought….getting blown out the odd time is a GOOD thing. It can be better to save your high leverage arms for the next game and not burn them in a close loss
