2/2 Turned out an apprentice mechanic had borrowed it to take his girlfriend out for a date. Apparently his face was a picture when he came in to pay for the fuel.

My brother had an Allegro and put it into a garage for a minor repair. At that time he worked in a petrol station in the evening for extra cash. He was on duty the same evening and looked out at his car was driven on to the forecourt and petrol put in. 1/2

Those cars were a pig. I recall having to push a broken down one. Not recommended as they weighed a ton.
