From the classic "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition" sketch on Monty Python's Flying Circus, Michael Palin is flanked by his henchmen Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam. They're wearing red robes with large wooden crosses hanging around their necks. Jones has on some sort of old-timey piloting helmet, which I always took to be something he saw in the wardrobe room and decided to anarchically incorporate into the costume.

Reminds me of a really early Simpsons episode along those lines where Homer pays a kid at an arcade to teach him how to master a boxing videogame called "Super Slugfest" just so he can defeat Bart at the Nintendo version they have at home.

I've used FantasyNameGenerators to good effect for years.

Worst name I ever came up with was probably my favorite, "Hebbor Nubbin," a wannabe world-conquering wizard who lacked the competence to be the BBEG. He would summon demons who would then take over his wizard tower and treat him as a servant

One time I was doing an improvised villain monologue and made the mistake of using the phrase "creatures of the night," which you don't do when half the group are Rocky Horror fans.

A few years ago I added a similar phrase to one of my favorite Life in Hell panels…
From the comic strip Life in Hell by Matt Groening, Bongo, a one-eared rabbit child, stands with a nonplussed expression in a large room surrounded by debris and chaos evidently of his own making, while looming in the foreground is the silhouette of a large two-eared rabbit I would take to be the strip's main character Binky the Rabbit, presumably having caught Bongo in the immediate aftermath of the youngster's shenanigans. The word balloon next to Bongo has been edited by me to read, "LET THE HEALING BEGIN." I don't remember what the original text was.

Interesting that CDs are making a bit of a minor comeback, it reminds me of the bit by @garygulman.bsky.social about seeing a guy next to him on a treadmill at the gym listening to a Discman. But the irony has been stripped away! People sell them on the TikTok shop!

What Life in the Stupidverse lacks in refreshing peppermint flavor it makes up for in sarcasm and wit.

I look forward to having a new, even thicker book to place beside it on my shelf!
The book Life in the Stupidverse by Tom Tomorrow sits in a windowsill aside a 15-pack of Extra sugarfree gum, peppermint flavor. They are similar in thickness but the book is substantially larger in dimensions and is not suitable for chewing. (Your pet might disagree on that last point so keep it out of reach.)

Drunk, bigoted, loudmouthed, white-haired, middle-aged asshole wearing photo grey glasses, and a dark colored vest over a New York Giants sweatshirt pointing at protesters and yelling slurs and pro-fascist statements with a look of exuberance and invincibility. That same guy looking at a camera with a blank, stunned expression, and blood streaming down the left side of his face from an enormous open wound above his eye caused by two separate face-plants onto the pavement.
