That an ex-con, enriched by a speculative activity that is both utterly useless & environmentally destructive, in cahoots with a despot who threatens our country, now tops the ranks of Canadian capitalism, proves we've gone right off the rails. Time to think big about change.

Note that the US number is 2 months out of date due to the government shutdown there (depriving businesses and consumers of vital economic data, and another symptom of Trump's cascading failures). The true year/year manufacturing job loss there is quite possibly larger.

The pain experienced in key Canadian sectors (incl. auto, primary metals, forestry) due to Trump is massive. But the national economy is more resilient than often thought. And the more time goes by, the worse things get in America--economically & politically. Canada wise not to rush into a bad deal.

I also critiqued the off-the-wall comments by the interim PBO Mr. Jacques. With net federal debt stable at 33% of GDP for 3 yrs, his claim we're "on the precipice" are nonsense, reflecting a deep ideological bias that damages the credibility of his whole office. #cdnpoli #cdnecon
