Aghast to learn I've been saying "hone in" when it's actually "home in". And I understand why it makes more sense but it I feel like if I say it that way I sound wrong, so I guess I'll just literally never say either one ever again.

This is a great thread. I honestly feel as though every cohort of young adults from now on is going to rely on their parents for critical thinking the way my generation might have asked their parents whats wrong with their car, how to build a fence, or why their cake isnt coming out right.
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.
