Happily re-learning the value of expertise, courtesy, and humour after the barking years.
Tobes is in Hungary today, lecturing about censorship and "fweedom!" apparently, so won't notice.

This movie title comes to mind, appropriately given it's an adult take on the original Lord Grade's Muppets.

I was thinking the same today about this Oracle/Larry Ellison story. This is so thuggish. Murdoch would be far more nuanced and have pleasing himself as the priority, not those in power.

Cameron built his entire 2015 General Election around a joke note written in 2010, and the Tories were being enabled to use the same argument well into the 2020s. So a big "No" to this r-w propaganda, thanks.

The BBC interviewing people like this on rotation doesn't help. He's nobody, but we have to pretend he's an essential voice.
November 18, 2025 at 9:44 AM
BBC News is still interviewing this tit, though - it's all so obvious, yet we still get people arguing why it isn't.

This is a medical emergency, with "news" and opinion infecting our minds. Need to take a leaf out of Dr John Snow's book and do something about the the source of the disease, the media spigot(s) pumping this out.

The BBC won't touch the strategic aspects of large scale migration, nor whether the criminal gangs are part of a wider transnational network that could involve state enemies. It basically covers migration with one eye shut. #wato

Prince Ruperts: hundreds of 'em.

Back then, they were reporting the rest of the "Stop the Steal" strategy well in advance of what looked like a final, desperate attempt to stay in power on January 6th.

As prev stated, we're in the "Trust no one my friend" era of UK politics, so they'll be people adjacent to the Trumpian/Farageist movement on the inside of this government, happy to screw it up. #r4today

The "Trust no one, my friend, not even me," era of politics started a decade or so ago, but he appears not to have noticed.

As well as Captain Maule Ramsay, there were loads of Nazi fanciers in the British Establishment- including the Robbie Gibb of his day, Major Joseph Ball. @lbc.co.uk

Trump is very unpopular in the US, but this is rarely stated in reporting his words and deeds across the UK media. It's constantly referenced for the PM, reinforcing the message that he's that unpopular. @lbc.co.uk

After the war, Axis collaborator John Amery, despite being the son of a fellow, senior Tory MP, was tried and executed. They didn't mess about back then.

It's basically a homage to Richard Burton's Mark Antony costume in Cleopatra.
November 11, 2025 at 12:24 PM
He's not that popular there.

It's worth looking again at the range of pro-Nazi, British collaborationists in the original version - from an ex-King, to the guys Rudolf Hess dropped in on, the Brits in the Waffen SS unit, John Amory, the Robbie Gibb-ish Joseph Ball. It was bigger than we care to think.

This was a story from just last week.

Many US judges were appointed by Trump. This one in Florida, Aileen Cannon, achieved notoriety for slow-walking and then dismissing the classified documents case against Trump. Would she give this $1bn law suit a fair trial? #r4today

Britain's response to Jacob Rees-Mogg is also in. #newsnight

Britain's response to Trump's BBC ultimatum is already in. #newsnight

This evidence came out last week - the organisation of "Stop the Steal" was extensive in the run up to Jan 6th and storming the Capitol was deliberate and incited.
November 10, 2025 at 7:23 PM
Murdoch faced that one down. CBS caved and is now owned tech billionaire Larry Ellison. The had their own edit furore in the US just 8 days ago.

Robbie Gibb is the Joseph Ball of our day - Neville Chamberlain's shadowy operative and interwar Tory fixer who got away with it, too.
