Fine, fair enough. I worked in ONE facility that was technically rural but was quite a bit bigger than a critical access hospital, and they had 2 cards who could do basic catheterizations. That location was rural, but the hospital rode like a secondary care center. Different situation, IMO.

First, you're not wrong

Second, rural cards are generally outpatient bc NO CATH LAB. They will only cross the threshold of the rural facility under duress or coercion

Third, cardiologists aren't trained to manage super sick kids, ortho injuries, complex lacs, trauma. They do other stuff entirely
