We are so excited to see the cool science that will come out of your group #chemsky
I'm excited to share that I'll be joining the Chemistry Department at Stony Brook University as a tenure-track Assistant Professor this fall! My group will use fundamental organic transformations to advance polymeric biomaterials. Check out jillalty.com for more information.

New work from @kiesslinglab.bsky.social up on @biorxivpreprint.bsky.social! @jillalty.bsky.social et al. used synthetic mucins to systematically study the role of glycan-dependent interactions on common probiotic bacteria found in the gut. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Synthetic Mucins as Glycan-Defined Prebiotics
The human microbiome contains at least as many bacterial cells as human cells. The mucosal layer that lines all epithelial cells organizes, cultivates, and regulates these bacterial inhabitants. Some ...

So excited to share with you work I've done with @laurakiessling.bsky.social now out on Biorxiv! Here, we were deciphered how native mucus cultivates and retains probiotic bacteria using synthetic polymers, using the information to design new prebiotics. Check it out! www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Optimist: The cup is half full
Pessimist: The cup is half empty
Referee 1: Yeah, cups are fine, but can you do it with jars, mugs & glasses?
Referee 2: You need to cite these 12 papers showing how to fill things (all ref. 2’s papers)
Referee 3: You misspelled ‘container’ on page 6
Optimist: The cup is half full.
Pessimist: The cup is half empty.
Chemist: Why are we using Imperial measurements instead of metric?
Optimist: The cup is half full.
Pessimist: The cup is half empty.
Law professor: No cups in the park

Hi! 👋🏻 I’m excited to be here for #chemsky. I’m particularly interested in intersectional science that transcends organic chemistry, chemical biology, and polymer synthesis 👩🏼‍🔬
