I’m embarrassed to say that it’s the only Priest I’ve read and I know there are other books of his that are more acclaimed. But I agree, I really liked his writing and this book has a very unique feel.

Not my favorite of the three. There’s some very far out stuff in it that was sometimes difficult to wrap your head around. Micro universes etc. But good nonetheless. How about you?

The books are pretty dense so there’s a lot there in terms of ideas etc. So I’d say yes, the books are better just in terms of the scope and sheer “epicness”. The series feels tamer also, which is not to say I didn’t like it. I have to run through it again.

It’s been years since I read this. One of the first “classics” that I read and that stuck with me. It’s of its time and his depiction of women wouldn’t fly today. But it’s so much more interesting than Starship Troopers and The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, both of which I found incredibly tedious.
