The vagueness of AI as a term definitely looks like a marketing/social engineering move to poison the well by obfuscation. Tech developers are perfectly capable of defining these things in precise language, they choose not to and everyone else has to try and parse what's actually being said

My main overall beef with web-based generative/machine learning services is, along with mobile-first design, it's consolidating compute and hardware in giant corpo datacenters. You don't need to control users if you control the tech and ration it out to terminals
