Proud to see my University (recently renamed as Université Marie et Louis Pasteur, in Besançon) express their support for #StandUpForScience

American colleagues considering to make a jump to join Team France, feel free to DM with questions if I can help!

I just added :

facet.args=list(free=TRUE)

And now the points align, great!

Its still not the plot I wanted, but I will keep hacking (ie how to use a facet and use a common y-axis limit)

Wow, for some reason I don't get, my points are offset - using the exact same code. I tried to save the 'par' for this plot, but I'm not sure what is causing this.

Hello! Its been a fun few days implementing this to create clean figures for my lectures (thanks!). I've picked up the syntax quickly, but I can't parse this (L). Any ideas to add a 2nd type across facets?

I tried to add to the draw argument, but it repeated the same points for both graphs (R)

What R Studio color theme are people using out there? I use Idle Fingers, but switch back to default (Textmate) when I'm teaching / projecting for students to observe. #rstats

We can thus do cool things, like estimate the direction and magnitude of trait evolution's effects for population size, for all combinations of species in the community (seen here for 4 species from an empirical study of Jewell and Bell 2023), and compare this to effect sizes of e.g. environment

A main finding is illustrated here - the HMSC model can partition variation in species abundances (here for a simulated 15-species metacommunity) as a function of trait evolution (blue), temporal (orange - encompassing species interactions) and spatial (grey) random effects, and environment (white).
