When we finally traded in our old Honda CRV last year, the dealership was surprised it was already paid off. Apparently many or most people trade in their cars for a new one, before the auto loan is even paid off?

Mine gets worse and worse all the time, to the point. It's almost unusable now . For example, the weird punctuation and capitalizations in this textpost. (My phone is a newish Google pixel)

And my 10-year-old son ate more than I've ever seen even a grown man eat! Unbelievable performance. Multiple just heaping full plates.

Our stuffing was especially good this year! I made it with a large portion of a hearty flavorful rye bread, which worked just perfectly to soak up the broth and add extra flavor to the stuffing.

Didn't think to take a pic of my plate, but this was our spread. Corn casserole, stuffing, rolls, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, ham and turkey. Cranberry sauce. Also fresh green beans in a Crock pot that were on the counter behind this.

I know it well now but hadn't heard it until I was a grad student: long story but an advisor used it as an analogy for something he thought I was wrong or full of crap on, at my thesis defense.

Love oyster stuffing as well, adds a real briny seafood taste to the meal, but hardly ever make it. Nobody else in my family will eat it and I don't want to eat a whole pan by myself.

Yep, this used to be almost every family dinner when I was a teenager and my mom was an ER nurse!

Trying to convince my wife & our kids' friends to delete and have them stop playing Roblox. But hard to explain this stuff w/o sounding kinda paranoid

We definitely came up with some weird localized phrases and so forth, primarily to mess with parents and teachers, but hard to catch on way before social media, texting, instant messaging etc.

We were just talking about mincemeat pie last night too. My wife didn't know what it was and had that exact reaction: "gross!" Thinking it was something like steak and kidney pie.

Sweet potato & pumpkin pie are basically tied for my #1 pie ranking!
