Thanks to everyone who came to the JG Thirlwell concert live-scoring Harry Smith's Heaven and Earth Magic at Tinker St Cinema in Woodstock NY on Saturday night. Harry Smith's ashes were buried in the Woodstock Artist's Cemetery in June 2025, so I got to visit his gravestone while I was up there.

I was very saddened to hear about the death of Dave Ball, half of the legendary Soft Cell. Dave's keyboards and arrangements were the engine that powered the group, framing Marc Almond's evocative and dramatic vocalizing. Rest In Power, Dave.

I just received test pressings of the brand new Foetus album. I shall be doing some scrupulous listening this weekend.
I'm deeply saddened to hear about the passing of legendary experimental film maker Ken Jacobs. He used strobing techniques to create 3D illusions, manipulated found footage, experimented with projection techniques and much more.
I collaborated with Ken on several films and performances.
RIP, Ken.
