We’ve driven coal out of New England’s electric generation resource portfolio. What will be the next category of fossil fuel generation that’ll be driven out of the region’s power mix? Oil peakers. I can’t predict when the last oil peaker will be shuttered, but they will be the next domino to fall.

I’ll say it again. We think we’re paying taxes, but Trump sees it as tribute in the old sense of the word: a payment made into his Treasury as a sign of our dependence. Oppose or contradict him and he’ll refuse to bestow favors granted to others.

Another way of saying it though is that China is seeing flat absolute cost growth, while we all know they are deploying the same amount and more than the whole world combined, which means their cost per unit is collapsing and they are harvesting global cash for their innovation of exporting energy.
