If Bari Weiss is going with that misleading appearance of "fairness", then for *every* story with a right-wing perspective, there should be a requirement of comment from the other side. If there isn't, then any story without comments from both sides, should be... shoved in her face.

The tactics which promote a false view of fairness... which makes Climate Change look like just an alternative to the denial, even though 90+% scientists believe in Climate Change...

It's a little scary to what it will do to other science/fact driven information, such as vaccines...
December 22, 2025 at 6:46 AM
I'm wondering if CBS News will now be constrained to present a right-leaning view with *every* story it puts out... the kind of stuff where you get a minority view point presented as equal weighted with over 90% consensus view...
December 22, 2025 at 6:46 AM
Probably good for Congress to know to keep pressure up. It is at least an improvement over the completely blacked out document.
December 22, 2025 at 3:10 AM
The more evidence of a cover-up, the more MAGA can see the problems with a rubber-stamp GOP candidate... which potentially splits the party. The rich and powerful are probably fine with a rubber-stamp Trump loyalist.

I think public scrutiny and media attention will help force accountability. If the Trump DOJ insists on dragging this out, this will mean that Epstein will be discussed for weeks if not months, while GOP candidates are preparing for primaries.

Per Meidastouch, only 2% has been released.
December 22, 2025 at 2:42 AM
From article:
"Out of [...] caution, the Department of Justice temporarily removed the [Trump] image for further review. After the review, it was determined there is no evidence that any Epstein victims are depicted in the photograph, and it has been reposted without any alteration or redaction."
December 22, 2025 at 2:42 AM
From the article: www.justice.gov/epstein/file...

The 119 page document that was completely redacted has now been "minimally" redacted.

When or if they get around to impeaching DOJ officials, I think someone should start preparing the case *now.*

Opportunity favors those who prepare.
December 21, 2025 at 11:15 PM
But tactically... if the DOJ officials get impeached, Trump is going to nominate some new ones who will most likely get confirmed by the Senate. If there's a chance that Democrats take back the Senate, it means that Trump is going to have to work harder to select officials who can get approval.
December 21, 2025 at 11:11 PM
The GOP candidates who are resigning, don't have primary pressure to protect Trump.

For the sitting GOP Congress who make it past the primary, there will be elevated (blue wave) pressure on a number of them to keep more blue-minded voters happy.
December 21, 2025 at 11:11 PM
The Senate voted unanimously to approve the release of the files because of bipartisan pressure.

We had to wait for the discharge petition to get the House vote, but once that happened, overwhelming support.

If people want those DOJ officials held accountable, speak up and call Congress.
December 21, 2025 at 11:11 PM
Of course, victims should be redacted out of the photos, but how long does that take?

Even if the worker is out for the weekend, the corrected file should be up Monday, since there were only 16(?) pulled files. Media follow-up would probably help in enforcing accountability.
December 21, 2025 at 11:02 PM
If the Bondi DOJ is going to pull every Epstein file photo that has a victim in it, very few people will ever see the perpetrators even in the same setting.
December 21, 2025 at 11:02 PM
And if the cargo is not illegal, these privateers are basically stealing from other countries...
December 21, 2025 at 2:11 AM
So this is setting up government sanctioned agents to traffic drugs and human beings? Because normally we'd believe some cargo wouldn't have legal value in the US... unless we're on our way to becoming a narco or slave state.
December 21, 2025 at 2:11 AM
All this, assuming that Trump Admin doesn't try to seize control of midterm elections...

At this point, I think, go through the motions and document everything while it is all top of mind. Prepare now. Because we don't want to sit around waiting to rev up post-blue-wave.
December 21, 2025 at 12:14 AM
Well, even if we have to wait for a (fingers crossed) House + Senate majority or a D president, the crimes need to be documented.

I'd like the D's to have their own post-midterm project of what they want to do if they reclaim the majorities so they can hit the ground running.

As is often commented, Christian Nationalism deviates from a lot of established Christianity... So if Trump Admin follows Hitler's example, sincerely devout Catholics are at risk from Christian Nationalists, after Miller et al. iron out their process of deporting immigrants, and...(sigh) scale up.
December 21, 2025 at 12:06 AM
I'm guessing the Catholic Church + Pope remember that a lot of priests ended up in the WWII Nazi concentration camps.

If we care about humanity (or a government cares about its citizens), healthcare and housing are complex problems, worth at least as much attention as sending people to Mars.
December 20, 2025 at 11:31 PM
It's a simple solution that fits well into a sound bite. JD Vance can spit it out in a few minutes while Democrats get bogged down in the details. Fox News can play Vance's sound bite without needing much explanation.
December 20, 2025 at 11:31 PM
So for the Trump Admin:
How to handle an affordability crisis? It's not: figure out how to supply more. Their answer is to eliminate demand or customers.
December 20, 2025 at 11:31 PM
The Trump Admin has an inhumane response to high demand vs low supply in addressing affordability...

Too many people want housing? Ok, claim that a portion are illegitimate and deport them.

Too many people lack healthcare? Ok, gut healthcare so the neediest die and there goes that demand...
December 20, 2025 at 11:31 PM
So I wonder how green card recipient crime rates stack up against the recidivism of all the people Trump pardoned... because there were people like Enrique Tarrio, who were also considered high risk.
