it is so much work!! I managed to get out of my college / grad school shelving days with minimal damage but my shelving shifts were rarely more than a few hours long. I wish that supervisor the crappy cart with the weird wheels every time they need one, though, that sucks

even if you’re on a direct line, here they only show up once every half hour, and often they just don’t show up at all!

For this sort of blackwork it’s honestly very similar to graph paper! You just get into the shape of the overall pattern and can look back at other repeats to copy, and they all nest together tidily to give you a check on whether you’ve messed up!
