After 600 years, Christmas markets finally let you play Sega games

Today I’m thankful for the fact that I don’t have to change the date when I turn on my Dreamcast.

Happy Thanksgiving and/or 27th birthday to the Japanese Dreamcast (whichever you celebrate)

That was what the Nintendo fan network was, except they literally had people use a DS for stat keeping at Safeco field. Glad we at least got one good thing out of Nintendo’s stake ownership of the Mariners.

I get it. My wrists scream bloody murder if I don’t use one of these grip contraptions with any handheld I try to play.

O cruel world! Why do the good mascots have to die while the East Midlands Railway’s creepy funko puppet lives on?

Quick Halloween PSA: Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 is really fucking enjoyable, actually. Had a thoroughly fantastic time with it.

Man, the coffee shop signboards go hard in VTMB2’s Seattle

I’m no Buddhism expert but I’m pretty sure perpetuating a cycle of anger is frowned upon and vowing vengeance in your prayer is kinda fucking unhinged

I’ve been on the fence about getting VTMB2 but then I saw its mid-upper 60s metascore. That puts in the same company as Deadly Premonition, Alpha Protocol, the EDF series, Nier, Tokyo Xtreme Racer, and all the other greatest video games ever made.

There may never be another Wave Race in this god forsaken future of ours but a random 2025 port of 1996’s Aqua Jet is precisely the soldier we need to help us float on

Pikmin Bloom’s outdated postcards “immortalized many of the real places that meant the world to me even as they’ve been lost to time…It’s an unexpected comfort that in some small way, by the grace of Niantic’s negligence, these places still live on.”

Two things I love about Edge’s prescreen highlights from the mid-90s: they feature…

1) Large bullshot spreads for old PC games I desperately want to play but can’t because they were cancelled, and

2) Genre-defining games as tiny ass footnotes below them

“Pikmin Bloom gives you a bunch of Pikmin buddies who wear silly costumes and follow you around while the app surveils all your fun little adventures together. Of course, your phone is doing that anyway…so you might as well enjoy the damn Pikmin.”

For no particular reason, this will be this afternoon’s garden reading:

An Edge cover story about Rare at its absolute peak, including a massive interview w/ the Stamper bros.
