I just spent 1.5k L$ on texture uploads for a single mesh part with 7 faces. That's 7 sets of each of the following Textures: Diffuse (which I almost didn't bother with but had already done it for other parts), White Diffuse for tinting, Normal, AO (Because fallbacks, which I stand by) & ORM.

Much more satisfied with how this came out, also 10x quicker to bake. I keep forgetting that significantly long bake times usually means I did something wrong. Also I'm starting to drill myself into making white diffuses (albedos?) which is helping a lot.

One of many reasons why back when I did photography I just took well set up high resolution photos in SL and then did all the fancy edits in GIMP. It takes a long time but the results speak volumes.

Anyways, this part of the ship as I found out is called the "Skeg" and is where the propeller & rudder will attach to. Infact those black marks are the shadow outline for the rudder.

My copy of Blender & the soon to be exhibited WIP of my Whaleback have come to an agreement that the klan are angry hate filled tinmen that wear stupid hats. You can thank texture baking for this output.
