A very special day today, when my lovely former colleagues @theul.bsky.social have digitised the founding documents of @rsliterature.bsky.social to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the signing of our Royal Charter. My favourite line: "We have become a People of Readers"
The RSL today marks the 200th anniversary of its incorporation with a Royal Charter ✒️

In celebration, Cambridge University Library @theul.bsky.social has digitised a selection of archive materials which they are making public today for the first time: cudl.lib.cam.ac.uk/collections/...

After 11 years at the UL, @lauragreenfield.bsky.social, Director of Services and Engagement, leaves today to become Director of the @rsliterature.bsky.social. We'll dearly miss Laura's rare combination of vision, leadership, humour and compassion, but can't wait to see what she does next!

Where it all began.

What a pleasure to be back @universityofleeds.bsky.social taking part in interviews at the Brotherton Library with @masudk.com and remembering my student days at the Faculty of English.

First work day at #UKSG25 is over 🥂 - stand out for me was the Library CEO with Tony Zanders, @jessicagardner.bsky.social and @kmdames.bsky.social talking about library leadership. Authentic, vulnerable and people-centred - a reminder that in a world of e-resources & OA it’s people who create change

My family and friends don’t always pay attention to what happens at my work, but they are all messaging me about the 1960s Crunchie wrapper!
We've really enjoyed all the chocolate chat. Our Crunchie wrapper was stashed behind some books in the late 1960s. It fell down the back of the shelves and was trapped under the bookshelf, meaning it could stay hidden for over 50 years!
Ok, it’s time to ‘fess up. Who ate a Fry’s Crunchie bar in the UL and hid the wrapper behind some books?

Mark in our facilities team got a surprise when he unearthed this chocolate relic recently. Who can help us date it?
