Lately finding it impossible to scroll within Facebook marketplace ads on the app without accidentally firing off the “Hello, is this still available?” message due to its strategic position and seemingly hyper sensitive nature. Filed under #deceptivepattern, fuck you Meta, RIP Gumtree.

I'm vibe coding. I'm sorry. I will figure out how to repay Mother Earth for all the water and energy I'm wasting, I promise.

Last night my 10yo suggested that based on my grumpy mood, it seems like I've had enough social media for the day, the dopamine rush is clearly wearing off and that perhaps I should put my phone down and pick up a book instead. The kids are going to be ok.

So, for what it's worth: I don't think AI is taking over jobs because it's better than people or even good at its job. I think it's taking over jobs because it's cheaper than people and bosses like cheap and aren't necessarily aware of the (very high) risk of bad, dangerous quality output (7/7)

Ssshhh, it's a bit of a secret but there is a hidden Z-axis in an Impact vs. Effort matrix and it goes by many names: "stakeholder appeal", "perceived sexiness" or perhaps "shiny new thing factor". This axis often hides just enough out of sight to remain invisible to the naked eye.

Hey ex GOV.UK pals - someone painstakingly converted a really old book on form design best practice into a web-based publication. From memory it was a book about designing paper forms. Any ideas? @frankieroberto.com @timpaul.co.uk @adamsilverhq.bsky.social @cjforms.bsky.social

Installed Cursor AI, and to test the waters asked it to refactor the scss in my personal site. First observation, Cursor AI loves a bit of Lobotomised Owl. * + * Nice one!

Second observation, I’ve created a code review job for myself that wasn’t there beforehand. Can I trust the suggested changes?
